What Pool Studio costs

So Pool Studio shows what it charges. Below is each tier, what it gates, and the costs that sit outside the subscription entirely.

Strictly per seat, one human per licence, and the licence cannot run on two machines at the same time. The vendor's FAQ says subscriptions are per-seat and each user needs their own licence, and the EULA adds that a membership permits one individual to install the program on any computer or mobile OS device but that the licensed materials may not be used concurrently on different computers or devices.

There is a discount for paying annually up front: And an annual prepay discount tells you an annual commitment exists, which is worth knowing before anyone mentions a term length out loud.

The Pool Studio line items nobody mentions on the demo

Payment processing. Pool Studio is design software and doesn't take homeowner payments, so there's no processing rate to negotiate. So ask instead which card the seat is billed to and who at your shop can change it, because the account holder is the only person who can cancel.

Implementation and onboarding. A one-time setup fee of $95 is charged at signup, on top of the plan. The vendor's own FAQ says subscriptions start with a one-time setup fee of $95 plus your chosen plan, billed monthly or annually. Training is bundled: the subscription includes technical support and training resources.

Minimum term. None published. The vendor answers its own contract question with a flat no, saying all plans are pay-as-you-go with no long-term commitments, that you can pay month-to-month or annually and cancel anytime, and that if you cancel you will be billed through the end of your current period and will not be charged again.

Cancelling an annual plan in month two therefore forfeits ten months of prepaid access value rather than recovering it.

Auto-renewal. Automatic. The EULA states the membership will automatically renew until you cancel. Cancellation is self-serve inside the member account: sign in, choose Manage Plan, then Cancel Membership, give a reason, and confirm. Modules sold separately. , . The Pool Studio figure worth writing down is the one with your day-one modules already in it, not the headline tier.

What a Pool Studio quote leaves out

The subscription is the part everyone quotes. These are the lines that land afterwards, and the ones we could not find are named as unpublished rather than left blank.

The four workflows you pay for

Feature totals are noise. So a shop in this category lives or dies on four things, and those are the four to grade, and each one below carries the evidence it's graded on.

The 2D-to-3D switch is the whole product, and by every account it works A designer draws the pool, deck, kitchen and planting in 2D and flips the same file to full 3D in one click, then walks the homeowner through an interactive presentation with time-of-day lighting, 8K stills and video storyboards. The library ships 2,924 3D objects, 1,503 HD materials and 1,748 plants and trees, and 13 real manufacturer catalogues are modelled in so a Pebble Tec finish or a Ledge Lounger renders as the actual product. And even the harshest reviewers separate the software from the company: one says the unfortunate part is that the software is excellent, another says it does exactly what you need before telling readers not to buy it. And a designer, 2-10 employees, Used weekly for less than 6 months on the platform, writing on 2024-09-05, writes the same thing: "software is great, it does exactly what you need but DO NOT PURCHASE!"

Imports generously, exports narrowly You can bring in DWG and DXF from AutoCAD, raster images as BMP, JPG, PNG, TGA or TIF, and 3D models as SketchUp, FBX or OBJ, plus GIS imagery for site context. But going the other way the door narrows sharply: 2D views out as PDF, PNG or DXF, stills and video for the client, YARD format for the iPad AR app, and .sav only inside the vendor's own package system. The asymmetry is deliberate and it's the lock-in mechanism.

Cancelling is easy, everything else about the account isn't Cancellation is genuinely self-serve: sign in, Manage Plan, Cancel Membership, give a reason, confirm, and wait for a confirmation email that names your last day of access. But moving a seat between machines is where the friction lives. The help centre carries a Transfer License to New Computer article. And the review and complaint record is dominated by people who followed a transfer process and were locked out anyway. Ten dated BBB complaints in the last 15 months describe the same shape: a key disabled, an account deactivated without notice, or a demand to buy additional keys to restore access. How Pool Studio lands by trade

QuickBooks connects, on every plan. Xero connects, on every plan. Your costs map through cost codes, so test yours against your own chart of accounts before you commit. A code your books don't recognise is how a labour charge quietly lands somewhere useless.

Past those, the road ends. QuickBooks, Xero, or any accounting package, Any CRM or lead-management system, Any job-management, estimating or field platform such as Jobber, Buildertrend or ServiceTitan, Zapier or any middleware do not connect. So if your books run on an ERP rather than the platforms named above, weigh that before anything else.

Beyond accounting it connects to AutoCAD (Import site plans, templates, landscape symbols and complete 2D projects. The file you import must be in either DWG or DXF format.), SketchUp / FBX / OBJ (3D model import for custom objects the built-in library doesn't carry.), YARD (Structure Studios AR app) (Push a Pool Studio design into an augmented-reality walkthrough staged in the client's actual backyard.), GIS and 3D terrain data (Aerial imagery, parcel boundaries and topographic terrain pulled into the site plan.), YouTube (Direct upload of a rendered presentation video.). A public API exists: No public API. Structure Studios publishes no developer documentation, no API reference and no integrations page anywhere on its site. Commercial aquatic work needs stamped engineering, spec coordination and drawing sets that live in a real CAD ecosystem, and Pool Studio's editable output never leaves a proprietary .sav file. No. There's no API, no middleware connector, and no software integration of any kind. The 13 published partners are pool and hardscape manufacturers whose products are modelled into the library. And Pool Studio is a closed island by design, and pretending otherwise will cost you the admin hours you thought you were saving. So what's this built on. Documents rather than a deployment: Pool Studio was researched, not run. The basis is 13 vendor pages for Pool Studio, read on 7 August 2026, and every review we could retrieve, sorted by complaint. Pricing was verified the same day, and every figure above traces to a page we opened.

So: eight quotes on this page, six from Slashdot, one from Capterra and one from Software Advice.

Forum and social threads are the ones people most want quoted, and they are exactly the ones we cannot verify, so none of them are here.

What that leaves untested: apple App Store and Google Play listings for the YARD companion app weren't opened, so YARD's own user rating is unknown.. And everything above is 13 vendor pages and a review corpus, which is documentary rather than hands-on.
