The Vancouver, BC HVAC specifics your website needs.

Every angle below comes from how Vancouver, BC homeowners search, evaluate, and buy, built into your site to help boost conversions.

The 2021 heat dome rewrote your market

Most Vancouver homes were never built with cooling, and your buyers remember why that matters. The June 25 to July 1, 2021 heat dome caused 619 confirmed heat-related deaths across BC, in a region where roughly 75% of residents had no air conditioning, and nearly all of those deaths happened indoors. That is the direct driver behind heat-pump-as-cooling retrofits, and your pages should name it head-on and drop the generic comfort pitch.

You size for Vancouver's damp cold

Vancouver gets 1,200 to 1,600 mm of rain across 165 to 180 rain days a year, which puts it in Pacific temperate rainforest territory. So your heat pump selection and moisture management run nearly year-round, unlike the dry-cold sizing logic behind most cold-climate content. Pre-war Kitsilano and Mount Pleasant homes often have no ductwork, which is why ductless mini-splits are the dominant install path you should feature.

BC stacks rebates up to $13,000

But quote the named programs and skip the inflated aggregate. BC Hydro's Home Renovation Rebate gives up to $4,000 for a whole-home heat pump, FortisBC's Air Source rebate matches that at up to $4,000, and the income-qualified CleanBC Energy Savings Program reaches up to $13,000 for ground-oriented homes. The '$16,000 to $19,000' figures on competitor sites are stacked third-party math with no single government program behind them, so keep them off your pages.

The gas-to-heat-pump standard rebate ended

Stop quoting a rebate Metro Vancouver no longer gets. CleanBC's standard-stream fuel-switching rebate for gas, oil, or propane to heat pump ended province-wide April 11, 2025, with the only exception north of 100 Mile House, which is not you. The federal Canada Greener Homes Grant and Loan are both closed too. Leaning on any of them dates your site and burns the homeowner who clicks through.

CGHAP funds no-cost retrofits in BC now

There is a live federal program worth naming for the right customer. The Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program expanded into BC on June 29, 2026, delivering no-cost heat pump and dual-fuel retrofits to an estimated 7,600 lower-income households through BC Hydro and FortisBC's existing assistance program. It is income-qualified with no direct homeowner portal, so your job is to screen and route eligible leads and market it only to those who qualify.

BC Starts With The Public Sector

The Accessible British Columbia Act received royal assent in 2021, and its regulation took effect in September 2022. For now it binds public-sector organizations, and there are more than 750 of them, to build accessibility plans, committees, and feedback tools. And guidance points those bodies toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA. So a Vancouver contractor is not directly covered yet, though public-sector clients will start asking you to match.

Private Rules Are Coming Next

British Columbia's framework is built to expand from government outward, and private-sector standards are the expected next step. And the ADA-style pressure from cross-border clients already pushes toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA. So a BC home-services company that meets the standard now is ready for both the coming provincial rules and any public-sector or enterprise client that requires it today. You lose nothing by being early.

Federal Rules, Federal Businesses Only

The Accessible Canada Act came into force in 2019, and it reaches organizations in federally regulated sectors like banking, telecom, and transport. And it leans on EN 301 549, which folds in WCAG 2.1 Level AA for web content. Most home-services contractors are provincially regulated, so the ACA usually will not bind your site directly. But it sets the national tone that the provinces now follow.

The Heat-Event Search From a Vancouver Special

Thirty degrees in a ductless house

A heat ridge parks over the Lower Mainland, an East Van Special with no ducts and no cooling crosses thirty degrees indoors, and the search happens on a phone in the one shaded room: heat pump installation cost. She taps your result. The numbers here come straight from our State of HVAC 2026.

The four-second render test

What renders in the next four seconds, a headline and a tappable number or a white screen buffering a hero video, decides whether your estimator ever hears about it. And that's the moment most Vancouver HVAC web design never plans for, because builds get approved in air-conditioned offices on fast connections by people who already know the company. The homeowner who pays the invoices judges the build mid-decision, on cellular, in seconds. The same crew also handles HVAC Conversion Rate Optimization in Vancouver, BC.

Her first-ever cooling decision

And in this market her decision is usually a conversion: the first real cooling her house has ever had, wrapped inside a heat pump purchase she's been researching for months. Web design for HVAC contractors in Vancouver that starts from her moment and works backward wins before anyone compares logos. We run the same build nearby for HVAC Website Design in Calgary, AB.

The tower's strata-vote buyer

And the second-defining visitor is just as specific: the condo owner in a Metrotown or Yaletown tower whose install lives or dies on a strata council vote. She isn't searching for equipment first. She's searching for the shop that knows how to get an approval through her council, and almost no website in the metro tells her that story.

What the Inspection Data Says About HVAC Builds

But don't take the urgency on faith. Take it from the inspection numbers. Fervor scored real HVAC contractor websites against one framework for the Digital State of the HVAC Industry report. Every site graded on the same categories, all evidence archived.

The Above-the-Fold Build: First Impressions by the Numbers

And once the page does load, the first screen has one job: tell the visitor she's in the right place and show her what to tap. The framework scores that directly.

Questions Contractors Ask Before Hiring Us

A site that books the job instead of just describing it. The work is conversion architecture first, so every page in Vancouver has a clear call path, real proof, and fast mobile load.

You see the scoring framework, the benchmark data behind it, and your ranked fix list before any remediation work begins. It is a diagnosis you can evaluate, not a promise you have to trust.

The Fervor Grade framework was built by scoring 380 contractor sites across roofing, remodeling, and HVAC. Your trade's patterns are in the data, not borrowed from SaaS or dentists.

A Booked by Design rebuild runs 30 to 60 days. It starts with a Site Inspection so the build targets the pages that are costing you calls.

You do. The domain, the content, the analytics, every account we touch. Day one. No ownership traps, no holding your site hostage if you leave.

Then you found out something that was already costing you, and now you know where. The inspection surfaces what is actually wrong on the site so you can decide what to fix.

No. We work with HVAC contractors across the region, and the research covers national brands too, so the benchmark holds whether you are downtown or two towns over.

A Booked by Design rebuild is one project price with no monthly lock-in. One booked job at your average ticket usually covers it, and we show you that math before you commit.

No. The work protects what already ranks. We map the URLs and the equity first, fix the conversion leaks, and improve the pages that search already trusts rather than wiping them.

Very little. The intake takes minutes, and the build work is ours to run from there. You keep running crews. We will only ask for things no one else can give us, like your real service area and your best photos.
