The Seattle, WA HVAC specifics your website needs.

Every angle below comes from how Seattle, WA homeowners search, evaluate, and buy, built into your site to help boost conversions.

Half of King County still has no AC

Seattle-area AC ownership crossed a majority for the first time only in 2021, rising to 53 percent from 34 percent in 2015, and June 2026 data still put King County's no-AC rate at 46.9 percent during a heat dome. That gap is the real sales argument here. You are equipping first-time buyers.

August smoke forces a windows-open-or-closed bind

Seattle's Beacon Hill station recorded a then-record 57.3 micrograms of PM2.5 on August 14, 2018, and the city's air ranked worst among 90 major world cities on an August 2023 evening. For a home with no cooling, wildfire season is a bind: open the windows for heat or close them against smoke. A MERV-filtered heat pump solves both at once.

Seattle Clean Heat pays up to $6,000

Seattle's own Clean Heat Program pays a $2,000 instant rebate on any qualifying oil-to-heat-pump conversion through a participating contractor, plus a $4,000 bonus for moderate-income households, for a $6,000 maximum, and full free conversions for income-qualifying low-income homes. The moderate-income bonus runs for installs completed by September 30, 2026, so timing matters on those jobs.

City Light discounts $300 to $600 at invoice

Seattle City Light adds an air-source heat pump instant discount of $300 to $600 per system, tiered by efficiency from SEER2 15.2 up to 16.0 and HSPF2 9.5, passed to the customer at invoice through participating distributors. DIY installs do not qualify. City Light also rebates $750 on a qualifying heat pump water heater, so bundle the two.

PSE adds up to $4,000 for conversions

Puget Sound Energy, the gas utility across much of the metro, pays $1,500 to convert electric-resistance heat to an air-source heat pump, $2,400 for income-qualified customers through Efficiency Boost, and up to $4,000 for income-qualified households replacing a natural gas system. One reported catch: starting April 2026 installs may need a PSE Trade Ally to stay rebate-eligible.

Your Website Is A Storefront

Title III of the ADA treats your business as a place of public accommodation, and courts increasingly extend that duty to the website tied to it. A private plaintiff cannot win money from you under the federal law itself, but they can force fixes and collect their attorney fees. So the cheap-looking demand letter still costs you real money once the lawyers get involved.

WCAG 2.1 AA Is The Yardstick

No ADA regulation spells out a web standard for private businesses yet, so courts and settlements borrow one. And the standard they borrow is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the same benchmark the DOJ wrote into its 2024 rule for state and local government sites. So when a complaint lists your failures, it reads like a WCAG checklist. You want to pass that checklist before a plaintiff ever runs it.

Fake Reviews Are Now Illegal

The FTC's Rule on Consumer Reviews and Testimonials took effect on October 21, 2024, and it targets exactly the shortcuts contractors get tempted to take. You cannot buy reviews, write them as the owner without disclosing it, or post testimonials from people who never hired you. And the FTC can seek civil penalties of up to $53,088 per violation. So that glowing five-star wall needs to be real and disclosed.

The Four-Second Window in a City Learning to Cool

So picture the visitor your site exists for, because this metro mints a new kind of HVAC customer every summer now. This page is one piece of our HVAC Website Design work.

A Green Lake homeowner in a 1920s bungalow that has never had cooling watches the forecast hit ninety-three, searches "heat pump installation" from her phone, and taps your result. What renders in the next four seconds, a headline and a tappable number, or a white screen buffering a hero video, decides whether your comfort advisor gets the visit. The numbers here come straight from our State of HVAC 2026.

And that's the moment most Seattle HVAC web design never plans for, because builds get approved in cool offices on fiber by people who already know the company. The homeowner who pays the invoices judges the build in heat, on cellular, in seconds. Web design that starts from her moment and works backward wins before anyone compares logos. The same crew also handles HVAC Conversion Rate Optimization in Seattle, WA.

"The median HVAC contractor website scores 65 of 100, and the single best site in the study reached 90." - Fervor, Digital State of the HVAC Industry (2026). We run the same build nearby for HVAC Website Design in Portland, OR.

And that's the measured field, it isn't a high bar. A Seattle shop whose build clears the failures below doesn't need to out-spend anyone in a tech-literate, expensive market; the build itself becomes the moat. (If the problem is being found at all, that's the Seattle HVAC SEO conversation. The system-wide picture lives at the HVAC web design hub.)

What the Inspection Data Says About HVAC Builds

Fervor inspected HVAC contractor websites across North America for the Digital State of the HVAC Industry report: one framework, evidence archived, no self-reporting. And the design-layer findings argue for everything below.

Mobile Speed Is the Whole Game in a Converting Market

And Seattle's demand curve makes the math unusual: the emergency season is new, growing, and concentrated. The heat advisories that now arrive most summers send a no-AC housing stock searching in waves, the shoulder seasons run heat-pump conversion research year-round, and the mild winters still produce real no-heat mornings in the old stock. Every wave lands on phones.

The Above-the-Fold Build: First Impressions by the Numbers

And what loads before the first scroll is a designed artifact: headline, proof, next step, in that order, fast. The framework scores it as its own category, and the trade's results show how few sites ever made a deliberate choice about it.

Questions Contractors Ask Before Hiring Us

A site that books the job instead of just describing it. The work is conversion architecture first, so every page in Seattle has a clear call path, real proof, and fast mobile load.

You see the scoring framework, the benchmark data behind it, and your ranked fix list before any remediation work begins. It is a diagnosis you can evaluate, not a promise you have to trust.

The Fervor Grade framework was built by scoring 380 contractor sites across roofing, remodeling, and HVAC. Your trade's patterns are in the data, not borrowed from SaaS or dentists.

A Booked by Design rebuild runs 30 to 60 days. It starts with a Site Inspection so the build targets the pages that are costing you calls.

You do. The domain, the content, the analytics, every account we touch. Day one. No ownership traps, no holding your site hostage if you leave.

Then you found out something that was already costing you, and now you know where. The inspection surfaces what is actually wrong on the site so you can decide what to fix.

No. We work with HVAC contractors across the region, and the research covers national brands too, so the benchmark holds whether you are downtown or two towns over.

A Booked by Design rebuild is one project price with no monthly lock-in. One booked job at your average ticket usually covers it, and we show you that math before you commit.

No. The work protects what already ranks. We map the URLs and the equity first, fix the conversion leaks, and improve the pages that search already trusts rather than wiping them.

Very little. The intake takes minutes, and the build work is ours to run from there. You keep running crews. We will only ask for things no one else can give us, like your real service area and your best photos.

Still Have Questions?

Give us a call expressing your specific needs, and we’ll see if we are a good fit for each other.
