Call Us TodayThe Salt Lake City, UT HVAC specifics your website needs.
Every angle below comes from how Salt Lake City, UT homeowners search, evaluate, and buy, built into your site to help boost conversions.
Altitude derating is code here
Salt Lake City's valley floor sits around 4,226 feet, and east-bench addresses climb past 4,500. Naturally-aspirated gas furnaces lose roughly 4 percent of input per 1,000 feet above 2,000, which lands somewhere between 10 and 17 percent below a furnace's sea-level rating here. Install without adjusting for altitude and you void the warranty and fail inspection under NFPA 54.
Winter inversions trap the valley's worst air
The Salt Lake Valley's mountain-ringed bowl traps cold, polluted air at the surface during winter inversions, and a January 13, 2026 event ranked the city's air among the worst in the country. Utah's mandatory wood and coal no-burn window runs November 1 through March 1, enforced with infrared cameras and $150 fines. That is the real hook for MERV-13 filtration and electrification.
Rocky Mountain Power pays up to $1,700
Rocky Mountain Power's wattsmart Home program pays $1,200 to $1,600 for an air-source heat pump conversion, tiered by efficiency to a cold-climate 8.5 HSPF2, plus $450 for a like-for-like swap and up to $1,700 on a ductless multi-head system. These are the current figures after a February 27, 2026 change. Only gas-furnace and electric-resistance conversions qualify.
ThermWise runs under Enbridge now
The gas utility's ThermWise program pays $300 for a 95-to-97-percent AFUE furnace and $350 for 97.5-percent-plus with an ECM blower, plus boiler and dual-fuel lines. One thing to get right: the utility is Enbridge Gas as of June 2024, not Dominion Energy Utah, even though local sites still say the old name. Quote the current program under the right owner.
The 25C credit is gone, quote around it
The federal 25C tax credit expired December 31, 2025, so drop it from any Salt Lake quote. And do not stretch Utah's R307-230 NOx rule onto furnaces: it caps natural-gas water heaters at 10 nanograms per joule in the nonattainment counties, not furnaces, and no furnace NOx cap exists here. Sell the live Rocky Mountain Power and ThermWise rebates instead.
Your Website Is A Storefront
Title III of the ADA treats your business as a place of public accommodation, and courts increasingly extend that duty to the website tied to it. A private plaintiff cannot win money from you under the federal law itself, but they can force fixes and collect their attorney fees. So the cheap-looking demand letter still costs you real money once the lawyers get involved.
WCAG 2.1 AA Is The Yardstick
No ADA regulation spells out a web standard for private businesses yet, so courts and settlements borrow one. And the standard they borrow is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the same benchmark the DOJ wrote into its 2024 rule for state and local government sites. So when a complaint lists your failures, it reads like a WCAG checklist. You want to pass that checklist before a plaintiff ever runs it.
Fake Reviews Are Now Illegal
The FTC's Rule on Consumer Reviews and Testimonials took effect on October 21, 2024, and it targets exactly the shortcuts contractors get tempted to take. You cannot buy reviews, write them as the owner without disclosing it, or post testimonials from people who never hired you. And the FTC can seek civil penalties of up to $53,088 per violation. So that glowing five-star wall needs to be real and disclosed.
The January Search Under the Gray Lid
So picture the visitor your site exists for. This page is one piece of our HVAC Website Design work.
Get My Site InspectionA Sugar House bungalow's furnace quits on the first hard night of an inversion week, the house is dropping a degree an hour, and the search happens on a phone at the kitchen table while the air quality app shows red. She taps your result. The numbers here come straight from our State of HVAC 2026.
What renders in the next four seconds, a headline and a tappable number, or a white screen buffering a hero video, decides whether your dispatcher ever hears about it. The same crew also handles HVAC Conversion Rate Optimization in Salt Lake City, UT.
And that's the moment most Salt Lake City HVAC web design never plans for, because builds get approved in warm offices on fast connections by people who already know the company. The homeowner who pays the invoices judges the build in crisis, on cellular, in seconds. Web design for HVAC contractors in Salt Lake City that starts from her moment and works backward wins before anyone compares logos. We run the same build nearby for HVAC Website Design in Boise, ID.
And in this valley her second search of the winter is just as predictable: the inversion settles in, the air goes gray, and "whole house air filtration" spikes on a schedule.
What the Inspection Data Says About HVAC Builds
But don't take the urgency on faith, take it from the inspection numbers. Fervor scored real HVAC contractor websites against one framework for the Digital State of the HVAC Industry report, every site graded on the same categories, all evidence archived.

Questions Contractors Ask Before Hiring Us
A site that books the job instead of just describing it. The work is conversion architecture first, so every page in Salt Lake City has a clear call path, real proof, and fast mobile load.
You see the scoring framework, the benchmark data behind it, and your ranked fix list before any remediation work begins. It is a diagnosis you can evaluate, not a promise you have to trust.
The Fervor Grade framework was built by scoring 380 contractor sites across roofing, remodeling, and HVAC. Your trade's patterns are in the data, not borrowed from SaaS or dentists.
A Booked by Design rebuild runs 30 to 60 days. It starts with a Site Inspection so the build targets the pages that are costing you calls.
You do. The domain, the content, the analytics, every account we touch. Day one. No ownership traps, no holding your site hostage if you leave.
Then you found out something that was already costing you, and now you know where. The inspection surfaces what is actually wrong on the site so you can decide what to fix.
No. We work with HVAC contractors across the region, and the research covers national brands too, so the benchmark holds whether you are downtown or two towns over.
A Booked by Design rebuild is one project price with no monthly lock-in. One booked job at your average ticket usually covers it, and we show you that math before you commit.
No. The work protects what already ranks. We map the URLs and the equity first, fix the conversion leaks, and improve the pages that search already trusts rather than wiping them.
Very little. The intake takes minutes, and the build work is ours to run from there. You keep running crews. We will only ask for things no one else can give us, like your real service area and your best photos.
