Call Us TodayThe New York City, NY HVAC specifics your website needs.
Every angle below comes from how New York City, NY homeowners search, evaluate, and buy, built into your site to help boost conversions.
Your Building Cannot Take Ductwork
Most NYC housing physically cannot accept ductwork, so ductless mini-splits and PTAC replacements dominate over central AC. Central Park's 30-year normal is 1,222 cooling degree days a year, and summer humidity pushes your sizing toward dehumidification as much as BTU count. So a correct summer install here is usually a mini-split or PTAC swap sized for latent load, since your building was never built to hold a forced-air system.
Three In Four Buildings Run Steam
About 75% of New York's multifamily buildings still run on steam heat off a central boiler, and Central Park averages 4,553 heating degree days a year. So your heating options are shaped by an installed base of steam and pre-war construction, which is exactly why cold-climate air-source heat pumps rated for sub-freezing performance are the conversion product NYS Clean Heat and Con Edison rebates are pushing hardest.
Clean Heat Pays $8,000 Per Home
Con Edison and NYS Clean Heat pay serious money on heat pumps: $8,000 for a full single-family air-source replacement, rising to $10,000 in a designated Disadvantaged Community, or $4,000 to $5,000 for an individual apartment. Multifamily buildings that decommission fossil fuel get $5,000 per dwelling unit. But the single-family rebate caps at 70% of project cost, 85% in a DAC, so the building type sets the number.
Income-Qualified Stacks Reach Higher
You can stack more on top in NYC. NYSERDA EmPower+ covers up to $10,000 at no cost for income-qualified 1-to-4-family households at or below 80% of Area Median Income, and moderate-income homes can get up to $5,000. And Con Edison adds a $1,300 instant rebate on an ENERGY STAR heat pump water heater. So the income-qualified stack goes well beyond the base heat-pump rebate.
Local Law 97 Penalizes Your Carbon
Local Law 97 is a commercial driver unique to NYC. Buildings over 25,000 square feet, including co-ops and condos, face annual carbon caps and a $268 per metric ton of CO2e penalty for exceeding them. And because HVAC is typically 30 to 50% of a covered building's emissions, a boiler-to-heat-pump conversion is a direct compliance lever for your board.
New York Files The Most
New York leads the country in website accessibility filings, and the state offers plaintiffs more than the federal ADA does. The New York State and City Human Rights Laws let a plaintiff collect compensatory damages with no statutory cap, plus attorney fees. And you do not need an office in New York to get sued, because serving New York residents online is enough. So a contractor marketing into the metro is exposed.
State Court Is The New Venue
Plaintiffs have shifted many New York cases into state court, where the Human Rights Law rules and damages run friendlier to them. And the city law adds civil penalties that can climb into six figures for willful conduct. Most defendants settle rather than test it. So if your booking form or gallery fails a screen reader, a New York filing is a quick and cheap move for the other side.
Fake Reviews Are Now Illegal
The FTC's Rule on Consumer Reviews and Testimonials took effect on October 21, 2024, and it targets exactly the shortcuts contractors get tempted to take. You cannot buy reviews, write them as the owner without disclosing it, or post testimonials from people who never hired you. And the FTC can seek civil penalties of up to $53,088 per violation. So that glowing five-star wall needs to be real and disclosed.
The 6am Search When the Boiler Won't Fire
So picture the visitor your site exists for. Approved-on-office-fibre builds never do. This page is one piece of our HVAC Website Design work.
Get My Site InspectionThe October boiler wave
An October cold snap hits, the citywide reactivation finds every marginal boiler at once, and a Park Slope brownstone owner is searching from a cold kitchen before work, not for the best price, but for whoever can come today. She taps your result. The numbers here come straight from our State of HVAC 2026.
What renders in four seconds
What renders in the next four seconds, a headline and a tappable number or a white screen buffering a hero video, decides whether your dispatcher ever hears about it. The same crew also handles HVAC Conversion Rate Optimization in New York City, NY.
Homeowner, super, or board president
And that's the moment most New York City HVAC web design never plans for, because builds get approved in warm offices on fast connections by people who already know the company. The buyer judges the build in crisis, on cellular, in seconds. And in this market she might be a homeowner, a super, or a board president doing diligence on three shops her managing agent shortlisted. We run the same build nearby for HVAC Website Design in Newark, NJ.
Convert all three buyers
The build has to convert all three. Web design for HVAC contractors in New York City that starts from their moments and works backward wins before anyone compares logos.
What the Inspection Data Says About HVAC Builds
But don't take the urgency on faith. Take it from the inspection numbers. Fervor scored real HVAC contractor websites against one framework for the Digital State of the HVAC Industry report, every site graded on the same categories, all evidence archived.

Questions Contractors Ask Before Hiring Us
A site that books the job instead of just describing it. The work is conversion architecture first, so every page in New York City has a clear call path, real proof, and fast mobile load.
You see the scoring framework, the benchmark data behind it, and your ranked fix list before any remediation work begins. It is a diagnosis you can evaluate, not a promise you have to trust.
The Fervor Grade framework was built by scoring 380 contractor sites across roofing, remodeling, and HVAC. Your trade's patterns are in the data, not borrowed from SaaS or dentists.
A Booked by Design rebuild runs 30 to 60 days. It starts with a Site Inspection so the build targets the pages that are costing you calls.
You do. The domain, the content, the analytics, every account we touch. Day one. No ownership traps, no holding your site hostage if you leave.
Then you found out something that was already costing you, and now you know where. The inspection surfaces what is actually wrong on the site so you can decide what to fix.
No. We work with HVAC contractors across the region, and the research covers national brands too, so the benchmark holds whether you are downtown or two towns over.
A Booked by Design rebuild is one project price with no monthly lock-in. One booked job at your average ticket usually covers it, and we show you that math before you commit.
No. The work protects what already ranks. We map the URLs and the equity first, fix the conversion leaks, and improve the pages that search already trusts rather than wiping them.
Very little. The intake takes minutes, and the build work is ours to run from there. You keep running crews. We will only ask for things no one else can give us, like your real service area and your best photos.
