Call Us TodayThe Boston, MA HVAC specifics your website needs.
Every angle below comes from how Boston, MA homeowners search, evaluate, and buy, built into your site to help boost conversions.
Hold Capacity At Five Degrees
Boston sizes cold-climate heat pumps to a roughly 5°F outdoor design temperature, so equipment has to be ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified and hold rated heating capacity that low to qualify for Mass Save. And in older housing still on oil boilers, oil-to-heat-pump conversions are common. So a Boston install lives or dies on cold-climate certification; a standard heat pump fades right when you need it in January.
Eighty-Nine Hundred Triple-Deckers, No Ductwork
Boston has an estimated 8,900 triple-decker buildings, wood-framed multi-family stock built with no ductwork, which is exactly why ductless mini-split retrofits dominate in neighborhoods like Jamaica Plain and Dorchester. One hole per head, no structural changes, beats trying to force forced-air into a hundred-year-old three-family. So if you own one of these, plan on ductless heads, since the building was never framed for a central-air conversion.
Mass Save Pays Up To $9,500
Mass Save's whole-home heat pump rebate pays $2,650 per ton, capped at $8,500, plus a $500 sizing bonus and a $500 weatherization bonus, up to $9,500 total for the 2026 program year. You need a Manual J assessment to qualify. So for a Boston homeowner, timing the install to the rebate cycle and getting the sizing paperwork right is where the real money is won or lost.
No Federal Credit To Stack Anymore
Do not build a Boston quote around the federal 25C tax credit; it expired December 31, 2025, and every 2026 rebate-stacking guide now describes Mass Save plus the HEAT Loan only, with no federal credit in the mix. So the stack is state and utility money. Quote what is live, and the good news is Mass Save's incentives here are deep enough to carry a project on their own.
Income-Qualified Boston Homes Get More
Income-qualified Boston households do even better: Mass Save's Enhanced rebates reach up to $16,000 for an air-source heat pump, with a full no-cost system reported through the Turnkey program for those at or below about 60% of area median income or enrolled in SNAP, MassHealth, or fuel assistance. And the 0% HEAT Loan finances up to $25,000 of whatever cost remains after rebates.
R-410A No Longer Qualifies For Rebates
As of January 1, 2026, only heat pumps using R-32 or R-454B refrigerant qualify for Mass Save rebates; R-410A units were pulled from the Qualified Product List under EPA's refrigerant phasedown. So confirm the refrigerant before you sign a Boston install, because the wrong one quietly forfeits thousands in rebate money even if the equipment itself is fine. This is a hard, dated line in the 2026 program.
No State Law Still Means Rules
Your state may not have a comprehensive privacy law yet, but that does not make your form a free-for-all. The FTC Act bans unfair and deceptive practices, and the FTC has gone after lead generators that dressed up data grabs as something else. So a checkbox that hides what you do with a lead, or a fake sense of urgency, is the kind of dark pattern the FTC treats as illegal.
Honor The Signal Anyway
Even where no law forces it, honoring Global Privacy Control is smart. Forty million people already send that signal, and the browsers and platforms your ads run on increasingly respect it. So building your site to read it now means you are ready the day your state passes a law, and you avoid training visitors to distrust a banner. And it keeps your tracking honest, which helps conversion, not hurts it.
Where Boston HVAC Sites Leak
Website conversion in this market spikes twice and researches year-round. This page is one piece of our HVAC Conversion Rate Optimization work.
Get My Site InspectionThe January cold snaps kill boilers in trade sample across the oldest housing stock in America; the July heat waves bake triple-decker top floors and drive a ductless conversion wave; and between the spikes, the oil-to-heat-pump researcher does months of homework on a five-figure decision. And during every wave the same scene repeats: a homeowner lands on a shop's site ready to act, and finds a number that rings to voicemail and a form that promises a callback within one business day. By mid-morning she's on someone else's schedule. The numbers here come straight from our State of HVAC 2026.
That's a website conversion leak, and it has nothing to do with how the site looks. Boston website conversion problems hide in plain sight precisely because the site seems fine to everyone who isn't freezing. The owner sees a presentable homepage, the agency sees a delivered project, and only the 6am homeowner sees the dead end. The same crew also handles HVAC SEO in Boston, MA.
(If the site itself is the problem, slow on a phone, structurally broken, that's the build discipline, covered in HVAC web design in Boston. And if you're invisible to begin with, start at Boston HVAC SEO.) This page is the layer between: visitors in, booked jobs out. "Across 104 HVAC contractor websites inspected for the Digital State of the HVAC Industry report, the average site earns 65.32 of 100 points." - Fervor, Digital State of the HVAC Industry (2026)
And the conversion categories drag that average down hardest. Lead capture and trust, the two layers this page lives in, are where the trade loses the most points, which means they're where a Boston shop catches up fastest, before buying a single additional click in one of the country's priciest ad markets. We run the same build nearby for HVAC Conversion Rate Optimization in Providence, RI.
The Conversion Baseline From the Inspection Data
Fervor's Digital State of the HVAC Industry work scored real contractor sites on one framework, evidence archived. The capture findings read like a leak map for the whole trade, and every number below is one your own website either beats or doesn't. Auditable in an afternoon.

After-Hours Capture in a Two-Season Market
Boston's highest-intent visitor arrives outside business hours twice a year: the boiler that dies overnight in January and announces itself at 5:30am, the third-floor walk-up that hits ninety on a July Saturday. What she needs is to book now. What most sites give her is voicemail and a promise.

Questions Contractors Ask Before Hiring Us
A site that books the job instead of just describing it. The work is conversion architecture first, so every page in Boston has a clear call path, real proof, and fast mobile load.
You see the scoring framework, the benchmark data behind it, and your ranked fix list before any remediation work begins. It is a diagnosis you can evaluate, not a promise you have to trust.
The Fervor Grade framework was built by scoring 380 contractor sites across roofing, remodeling, and HVAC. Your trade's patterns are in the data, not borrowed from SaaS or dentists.
A Booked by Design rebuild runs 30 to 60 days. It starts with a Site Inspection so the build targets the pages that are costing you calls.
You do. The domain, the content, the analytics, every account we touch. Day one. No ownership traps, no holding your site hostage if you leave.
Then you found out something that was already costing you, and now you know where. The inspection surfaces what is actually wrong on the site so you can decide what to fix.
No. We work with HVAC contractors across the region, and the research covers national brands too, so the benchmark holds whether you are downtown or two towns over.
A Booked by Design rebuild is one project price with no monthly lock-in. One booked job at your average ticket usually covers it, and we show you that math before you commit.
No. The work protects what already ranks. We map the URLs and the equity first, fix the conversion leaks, and improve the pages that search already trusts rather than wiping them.
Very little. The intake takes minutes, and the build work is ours to run from there. You keep running crews. We will only ask for things no one else can give us, like your real service area and your best photos.
